General Information
Special Little Star Alert!!:  If you are the proud parent of a brand new
little Star, we want to thank you for letting R.D.D.S. be a part of your child’s
development.  R.D.D.S. would like to commend you for caring enough to take
time out of your busy schedule to allow your child to become a Dixon Star.
Pre-school students need time to adjust to new atmospheres and to the new
people around them.  If your child is hesitant to attend class, don’t give up!!
R.D.D.S. is willing to give your Star a little extra time to warm up to this new,
fun experience.  There may be a time when a mother is asked to accompany
their Star to their classroom.  If this happens to you, don’t be embarrassed.
It has been the case for some of our most accomplished dancers!  However, if
this does not happen to you but does happen to another mother in your child’s
class and your child is doing fine without you (which may make you glad and a
little sad) please do not promise your child that you will accompany them to
class too.  When there are too many parents in a classroom it causes an even
bigger disruption for the kids and the teacher.  Another important reminder
to parents of Stars of all ages – please ask your Star if they need to use the
restroom before their class begins.  One child needing to leave class to use the
restroom usually creates a “snowball” effect on the other dancers and
becomes a teacher’s nightmare!!

R.D.D.S. encourages and invites parents to observe their dancing Star the last
ten minutes of the last lesson of the following months:  October, December,
February, and April.  We hope that you will show respect for your Star, other
dancers, and their teacher by refraining from talking.  Please leave the
teaching to us and give your Star your full attention at all times.  This is a
great time to sit back, relax, and enjoy watching your Star shine!!  To
eliminate distractions, we ask that no other children observe class – adults
only.

All Dancers:  Please make sure to use the restroom before you enter class.

We ask that everyone help by cleaning up any trash wile waiting for big brother
or sister to finish class.  Thanks!!

We would appreciate a phone call if your child will not be attending class due
to illness.

If Union County/College Corner school district is closed due to bad weather,
you still need to call the studio after 1:00 pm to find out if classes are being
held.  There should be a recorded message letting you know the situation for
that particular day.  If Union County is open, but your school is closed due to
inclement weather, your attendance will not be effected.  Monthly fees are
still the same and make up classes cannot be guaranteed.  The only absences
that are counted “excused” are school functions and programs which receive
a grade or, of course, a death in the family.

Please check our website often for updates and news at www.rdds-dance.com
throughout the year.  This helps to make your Star shine as bright as he/she
can!!
